What are you doing for Earth Week 2017?

Ah, Earth Week is here!

Green Calgary has many of its own plans for how to celebrate Earth Week, but what are you doing for Earth Week? It's a great time to set a new green goal and make a plan to carry it out. We all make many goals in our lives, goals for our homes, our careers, and our families, and setting a green goal is much the same. Figure out what kind of change you want to make, set the goal, and find resources to help you follow through. Whether it's your first green goal or your tenth, we're here to help you! If you want to go out and celebrate Earth Week, there's lots happening in the next two weeks. Here's just a small sampling!

April 18th: GreenTalks; 6pm-8:30pm

Our own AGM is going to be followed by the first-ever GreenTalks, sponsored by BluPlanet Recycling Services! This speaker series features expert Calgarians speaking on topics of setting green goals, the new green cart program from the City of Calgary, sustainable energy, and so much more! April 19th: Innovating Alberta's Energy Future; 1pm-5:15pm

This showcase from the Energy Futures Lab includes speeches about Alberta's energy future, as well as cultural performances. The afternoon showcase is followed by a reception. More info HERE!

April 19th-23rd: Earth Week at the Zoo; daily 10am-2pm

Daily programming for Earth Week will be at the Calgary Zoo, including a Green Calgary booth talking about worms and water conservation! Plan your trip on the Zoo's website HERE!

April 18th-20th: Brookfield Annual Environmental Awareness Fairs; 11:30am-1:30pm

On the 18th at 5th Avenue Place and the 20th at Suncor Energy Centre, Brookfield Properties will be hosting its Annual Environmental Awareness Fair, including tips on energy conservation and recycling from community representatives. April 22: Earth Day Community Rain Barrel and Composter Sale; 9am-12pm

Join Green Calgary and ATB Financial at the Sage Hill ATB branch for our full opening Rain Barrel and Composter Sale! Come to get a barrel or composter, or just to find out what this water conservation stuff is all about! More info about all our sales HERE.

April 22: Sustainability Day at IKEA; 9am-4pm

IKEA Calgary's Sustainability Day includes all sorts of local community groups coming together to provide recycling services, specialized programming, and money off your IKEA purchases! Green Calgary will be there offering mini workshops, activities for kids, and a full rain barrel and composter sale. Find out more HERE!

April 22: Garden, Health & Wellness Expo; 2pm-5pm

The West Hillhurst Community Association is hosting an Earth Day celebration that includes activities, displays, and more. Find out more HERE.

April 22: Liam and Jake Walk to Mexico; 7pm-11:30pm

Come down to Joyce on 4th after your other Earth Day events to hear about, and talk to, those who have walked the Great Divide Trail. More info HERE.

April 22: March for Science; 1pm-3pm

March for Science YYC is a celebration of science taking place at the Olympic Plaza. Find out more HERE.

April 23rd-27th: Down to Earth Week at REAP; various times

REAP Business Association will help you make our city more vibrant and sustainable with all of its Down to Earth Week programming. This isn't one to miss! Find out more HERE!

April 29th: Green Calgary Sale and Little Green Library Launch; 9am-12pm
